Well, another absolutely BRUTAL Knotfest is in the books! It’s hard to believe that Knotfest continues to top the previous years, but yet again we witnessed a lineup stacked full of absolutely amazing performances, fueled an unbelievable festival and insanely passionate concert goers.

It’s hard to name some of this festival’s heavyweights because there were just so many, on all stages. From and immaculate performance by Judas Priest, who headlined night number one...to a very special performance by Korn, who made the stop in the midst of their 20th Anniversary tour for their first album, “Korn”...the audience was certainly in for a treat to see these giants of the metal scene, play the first seven songs of their debut album, in order (which is extremely rare), as well as a few of their other hits to finish off their powerful set.

Knotfest 2015 @ Devore, CA - 10/25/15

Day 2 of Knotfest was just as insane as the first day, with headliners Slipknot putting on an outstanding performance, filled with evil circus, funhouse props and scenery, and loads of pyro across the stage. The crowd went absolutely nuts as Slipknot took the stage. This show was certainly something special. Spread out amongst the massive grounds at the San Manuel Amphitheater in San Bernardino, were 5 different stages full of amazing artists. From smaller, local bands who won contests in order to get a slot on the bill...to absolute legends in the music scene. Also featuring a Slipknot museum dedicated to the history of this great band (in an evil circus tent none-the-less), an absolutely scary carnival ride called the Circle of Fire, and a Mad Max style Thunderdome, hosting battles by post-apocalyptic warriors suspended in mid-air, flying toward each other, swinging their pugil sticks in hopes of winning the battle...as well as putting on and awesome show. There was no shortage of activities to be a part of. Also making a special appearance, the Metal Mulisha were there, pulling of some insane arial tricks and flips on their dirt bikes.

To go from watching such bands as Dying Fetus and Kataklysm, who are death metal icons...to seeing hip hop gods Mobb Deep and Wu-Tang’s Ghostface Killah...in the same day...you know this had to be a crazy festival. Not to mention having some old school punks like Suicidal Tendencies, and the great Ice-T’s metal band, Body Count....this festival was as eclectic as it was intense. Featuring other powerehouse artists such as; Mastodon, Clutch, Snot, Trivium, All That Remains, Cannibal Corpse, Gwar, Corrosion of Conformity, Bring Me the Horizon, Helmet, and Sepultura, just to name a few, this was an experience not to have been missed. If you did miss it, well, seeing as this wonderful 2 day event that is Knotfest seems to be here to stay, I’m willing to bet that they will pull out all the stops to make next year’s festival even bigger and better than this year’s...which is saying a LOT. Better makes sure you don’t miss the next one!
